My 30 Day Shred - Day 26

Hello All,
So you are probably wondering where I got to and well basically I have been ill for the last week with a fever so I managed to do the 26 day shred not the 30 day shred!
At the end of it all I felt physically much better but only lost an inch on my arm and hips. I am 2 pounds heavier than when I started.
My body shape pants have just arrived so next week when I am feeling better, I will start the programme again. I will try and increase my water and protein intake.
Unfortunately no weight loss to report but I have seen that someone else did the 30 day shred and it wasn't until they started for their second time that they lost weight. They say it takes 3 months at the gym before you get any results and I figure that it has only just been the equivalent of 3 months at the gym now so hopefully me week's break due to this illness won't set me too far back on my fitness plan.
The only time in my life when I found it easy to lose weight was when I lived in Barcelona in an apartment with no oven and I used to walk for 1 hour a day and eat spinach almost every day. As it is getting warmer, maybe I will try to start walking again for that hour...... we shall see.
Until next week when I have something interesting to say..... let me know how you are getting on.

My 30 Day Shred - Day 5

Hi Everyone,
You will be pleased to know that I am still on course with my exercise plan but unfortunately this weekend didn't go so well with the 'cutting out chocolate'. It all started with 1/2 a chocolate croissant that my partner couldn't finish on Saturday and then a friend brought some Hershey's chocolate back from the USA and well, you know..... So rather than get annoyed with myself I have decided to do 'no chocolate' during the week and give myself a pat on the back for managing to continue with the exercise plan.
So I did finally measure myself even though this is 5 days in but it will give me an idea at the end if I have lost inches... In terms of the exercise, I definitely feel stronger already and can do many more push ups than at the beginning. I have had that 'girly time' over the past two days so I didn't push myself harder than copying the lady that shows you the beginner way to do things and then today I decided to up my weights. I thought that I was using a 1kg but apparently it was 0.5kg so now I am using a 1kg. On some exercises this is fine but when she does the ones where you lunge to the side and lift at the front, it really hurts. I find my Breathing Relief dilator really helps with the cardio and specifically push ups. The only criticism I have of the programme is that more stretching is needed at the end to lengthen the muscles but I'm not even practicing what I preach so there we go.
My other half got worried today when I mentioned it was 30 days and needed reassuring that I would continue exercising after. I have high hopes for this plan now and look forward to not having bingo wings!!
I would love to hear about your exercise stories. Message me on FB.

The 30 Day Shred - Day 1

Hello Everyone,
I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year. If, like me, you managed to let your fitness regime slide by the end of the year and consume your body weight in food then you are desperate to find the answer to rectify the situation as soon as possible. I have decided not to go on a 'diet' but instead avoid chocolate for 30days (apart from low calorie hot chocolate drinks) and go on a very strict fitness regime. I wanted to prove that you could tone up and get fitter at home rather than pay extortionate amounts for the gym. I have decided to follow 'The 30 Day Shred' exercise regime from Jillian Michaels. It has 3 exercise versions, beginners, intermediate and advanced each of which you partake in for 10 days.
This morning I got up extra early to start my 'new routine'. Firstly I weighed myself, well I know I put on a few pounds before Christmas but apparently over the holiday week I managed to put on another half a stone....I'm hoping quickly on means quickly off! So at 5'6 I currently weigh 164 pounds!!!! This is bad since in October I was 15 pounds lighter.
Anyway I hope you appreciate my honesty and join me on my journey of fitness, health and wellbeing. Please note that I am not calling this a 'diet and exercise' plan as that would send me running or not so it seems.
Anyway I have

I intend to update you a couple of days a week or when I am generally excited about something. I would love to hear about your new years resolutions and fitness stories so you can communicate with me on our Facebook page or Twitter.

Celtic beat rangers 1-0 to take them to the top of the Scottish Premier table. Celtic dominated the second half and Ledley crashed in a header from a corner (took by Charlie Mulgrew) in the 52nd minute. Rangers offered little reaction and Celtic made its ninth league win in a row with ease. After having trailed by 15 points on the 5th November, albeit with two games in hand, Celtic went into the New Year with a two-point lead in the title race.
Through the match Celtic managed to gain 56% position (mainly through the second half). Celtic also had 9 on target attempts whereas Rangers only managed 2. Rangers also gave a mass of 22 fouls leading to 5 minuets extra time.
Celtic beat Dunfermline 3-0 on 2nd of January to retain their 2 point lead on Rangers thanks to goals from Stokes, Mulgrew and Wanyama. Celtic once again retained most (59%) of the possession throughout the match having 3 attempts on target. Dunfermline had no on target attempts and this now leaves them in 12th place with 14 points only 1 point behind Hibernian.

Arsenal Boxing day strike

Arsenals Boxing Day match against wolves has been moved back 24 hours after a proposed tube strike. The match will now be played on Tuesday the 27th December at 3pm. This change means that arsenal now face a hectic time as the move means they have three matches in one week. Their other two matches against QPR and Fullham will commence on their set dates. The strikes will also affect Chelsea who are playing Fullham on the 26th December, but they have chosen not to reschedule. A High Court judge was expected to decide on Thursday whether to halt the planned Boxing Day strike by drivers involved in a pay row.
Also to add to the planned strike on London Underground on Boxing Day, there would have been no services functioning on overground train services into London.
All tickets purchased for this match are still valid for Tuesday, December 27.
